About Maria:

Maria is a 66-year-old resident of Los Angeles originally from Mexico City, has lived in the United States for 25 years. The proud mother of one son and blessed with three grandchildren, Maria has dedicated 23 years to the janitorial industry. Throughout her career, she has witnessed firsthand the impact of sexual assault and harassment on close friends and co-workers.

Motivated by the challenges faced by those around her, Maria recognized the need for action. Taking initiative, she became an instructor, collaborating with Centro Ya Basta to advocate for laws that protect and support janitorial workers. Maria’s goal is to disseminate this crucial information to all janitors, fostering an environment where they can work in a safe and supportive space. She believes in the possibility of creating workplaces that prioritize the well-being of every individual in the industry.

Maria Dominguez completed a 40-hour training course to become a certified professional instructor in the prevention of Sexual Harassment and Abusive behavior in the cleaning industry.
