About Maria:

Maria has over 25 years experience in the janitorial industry in which she recalls  moments of achievements but is aware that those moments also came with obstacles, moments of sadness, and injustices. Despite facing language barriers Maria took the opportunities to empower herself through education and today has a long history of participating in community  & activist roles. 

Maria is a survivor of sexual violence and and is a proud single mother that hopes to inspire others through education. Maria lives her life knowing that it is never too late to overcome, educate, and empower herself and others. After having completed one of her achievements of becoming  a Ya Basta Instructor, Maria continues to work through her goals and is currently in the process of learning a second language.

Maria Angeles completed a 40-hour training course to become a certified professional instructor in the Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Abusive Behavior in the Cleaning Industry.
