About Aleyda:

Aleyda Márquez is an idealistic, resilient, and deeply passionate Salvadoran woman whose life has been guided by a profound calling to serve and a genuine commitment to social causes and violence prevention. Before coming to the United States four years ago, she worked on community projects across El Salvador and Central America. She built dialogue tables and contributed to public policies aimed at preventing youth violence, an experience that transformed her and confirmed her belief that prevention is the true path to peace. After settling in this country, and through her work in the cleaning industry, she recognized her community’s invisible needs and deepened her commitment to using knowledge as a tool for empowerment. Her family consist of her husband and her beloved dog, TJ who are her daily inspiration. Her participation in the 40-hour training at the Ya Basta Center equipped her with powerful new tools to continue multiplying that knowledge among working women across California. Aleyda dreams of earning a master’s degree in conflict resolution, building social consulting projects that bridge San Diego, El Salvador, and Central America, all while there are still mountains to climb, volcanoes to conquer, and beaches waiting to be discovered.

Aleyda Marquez completed a 40-hour training course to become a certified professional instructor in the Prevention of Sexual Harassment and Abusive Behavior in the Cleaning Industry.
